How to register for Council Tax
If you have recently moved into the borough or have recently changed address you will need to register for council tax. You can do this online or by downloading and completing a registration form or contacting the council tax office.
Do it Online
My Account allows you to view your council tax account and apply for discounts. Additional council tax services will be introduced over time.
If you do not use My Account you can register for council tax by completing our change of address eform. The form should take approximately 5 minutes to complete when following the online instructions.

If you do not register for council tax online you will need to download a registration form (PDF, 36KB). Once you have completed the form, please return it to:

Contacting the Council Tax office
In order for the Council Tax Office to register your details quickly and accurately, please ensure you provide the following details:
- the property address
- your name and the names of anyone over 18 living in the property
- the date you rented / purchased the property
- the date you moved into the property.
