Contaminated bins

Putting the wrong item in your rubbish or recycling bins can contaminate them, which means they will not be collected.

If your bin has the wrong things in, it will not be collected because it could contaminate everything in the bin truck.

The crew will log a report and tag the bin. You will need to empty the contents so that your bin can be collected next time.

You can take rubbish or recycling to the Haringey reuse and recycling centre.

For more information on what to put in your bins see types of bin. If you would like more help or advice we can arrange for an officer to visit you. Contact Veolia if you want advice.

‘Keep Your Bin Happy’

Introducing "Keep Your Bin Happy" - our community-driven campaign aimed at promoting responsible waste disposal and recycling habits!

At the heart of our initiative lies a simple yet powerful message: by using the correct bins and keeping food waste out of recycling, we can collectively make a significant impact on our environment.

Through education, awareness, and practical solutions like ordering a free food caddy for excess scraps, we're empowering residents to think before they dispose and take positive action towards a cleaner, greener future.

Join us in keeping our bins happy, our community clean, and our planet thriving. Together, let's make a difference, one bin at a time!
