Licensing Act 2003 applications

La Barca

685 High Road, Tottenham, London, N17 8AD
Ward – Bruce Castle

Application to vary the layout of the plan.

Remove the condition that restricts the supply of alcohol on the premises to being ancillary to a meal, for the following reasons:

  1. Operational Flexibility and Business Viability.
The current condition limits my ability to cater to a broader customer base, including those who may wish to enjoy a drink without ordering food. This restriction negatively impacts the commercial viability of the premises, especially during off-peak dining hours when food sales are naturally lower. Removing the condition will allow for a more sustainable business model and improve customer experience.
  2. No Negative Impact on Licensing Objectives.
The premises operate responsibly and have a proven track record of upholding all four licensing objectives.
  3. Comparable Premises Without Similar Restrictions.
There are similar premises in the local area with no such meal-related condition attached to their alcohol licence. The removal of this restriction would bring our licence in line with others and ensure fair competition within the local hospitality sector.
  4. Controlled and Limited Scope.
While seeking this change, the premises will continue to operate in a responsible manner. There are no plans to convert to a high-volume drinking establishment. The focus remains on offering a comfortable and safe environment for patrons.
