Council continues to support communities during Israel-Gaza conflict
As we approach four weeks since the outbreak of violence in Israel and Gaza, we want to reaffirm our support and solidarity with all those here in Haringey who have been affected.
Since the beginning of this crisis, we have been working together with our communities to ensure that our borough continues to be a welcoming and inclusive place for everyone.
We have always been clear that we will not tolerate any form of hatred in our borough, and we stand with our Jewish and Muslim communities at this challenging time.
All of us have been horrified by the immense loss of life and suffering we have witnessed.
The humanitarian crisis is worsening by the day and there is an urgent need for aid to ensure that innocent victims of this conflict can get the medical and support they need.
We would invite everyone who is able in Haringey to consider making a donation to the British Red Cross appeal to help provide vital aid to those who need it.
We know that many of our residents have been personally impacted by these events, and our communities are also rightly concerned about reports of rising antisemitism and Islamophobia here in the UK.
Rest assured we will continue to work with the police and faith community leaders to ensure our residents feel safe.
We stand together as one community in Haringey.
