Main pool at Tottenham Green to re-open on Wednesday

The main pool at Tottenham Green Pools & Fitness is to re-open tomorrow (Wednesday 14 February 2024), providing a further boost to swimmers in the east of the borough after the teaching pool there re-opened last month.

The re-opening comes after Haringey Council and Fusion Lifestyle completed essential maintenance and cleaning works and ensures a full service will now be available at the centre for the remainder of the school half-term holidays this week.

Haringey Council’s Cabinet Member for Culture, Communities and Leisure, Cllr Emily Arkell, said:

“It’s fantastic news that we are now able to re-open the main pool at Tottenham Green and restore a full service there for the remainder of the school half-term holidays this week and beyond.

“I fully appreciate and understand just how frustrating the closure of the pools throughout 2023 has been for many residents as our specialist staff and contractors have gone about undertaking and completing this complex piece of work.

“We’ve started 2024 off though in really positive fashion, with the full restoration of swimming provision in the east of the borough, and – working together with our communities – we can all look forward to a high-quality leisure service in the future.”

In 2023, Haringey Council took the decision to take back control of the three leisure centres currently managed by Fusion Lifestyle – Broadwater Farm, Park Road and Tottenham Green – as part of a long-term ambition to co-produce a comprehensive health and wellbeing service across the borough.

Following a 12-month contractual notice period, the council plans to take control of the three centres no later than 2 October 2024.
