New online marketplace to support Haringey’s business community and local economy launched
Local businesses and residents are set to benefit from the launch of a new online marketplace (app and website) called BuyHaringey.
Haringey business owners can set up a free BuyHaringey profile, create an online shop and benefit from reduced fees.
BuyHaringey offers small businesses located on the high street, and in industrial estates, the opportunity to promote and sell their goods to those who live, work and visit Haringey.
Designed by digital experts bubltown, users of BuyHaringey will be able to discover hundreds of independent local businesses and check their trusted favourites, redeem offers/discounts online or in store and buy directly from local small businesses. They will also be able to access the latest promotions from local shops, restaurants, services, attractions, and events.
BuyHaringey supports the council’s commitment to create a more resilient local economy and is an innovative way to help our local businesses reach new audiences. It is an online marketplace that will also deliver offline benefits by driving footfall to our town centres with in-store offers.
Cllr Adam Jogee, Cabinet Member for Economic Development, Jobs & Cohesion said:
Haringey is home to many small and medium sized business, with many local businesses run and owned by local people.
“Small businesses are the backbone of our community, and we want to champion the amazing businesses we have here in our part of the world. Through the creation of BuyHaringey, our hidden gems are now available for the world to see.
“I strongly believe that a thriving, productive and inclusive local economy benefits Haringey’s businesses and local people too. BuyHaringey will help create sustainable opportunities and local investment and I send my best wishes to all those involved.”
This programme is funded by the Mayor of London's Good Growth Fund, via Haringey's Good Economy Recovery Plan and High Streets Recovery Action Plan.
