Parenting support programmes

Our parenting support programmes and workshops are aimed at mothers, fathers and carers of children and young people living in Haringey or attending a Haringey school.

All programmes are free to attend. On this page you will find an overview of all programmes available for early 2025.

How to refer

For all programmes (except Caring Dads) you must download and complete the parenting referral form  

For Caring Dads, you'll need to use the dedicated Caring Dads referral form

Incredible Years – school age programme

A course for parents who want to learn how to get the best behaviour out of their child and strengthen their relationship with them.

Parents and carers will develop confidence in being a parent and learn parenting strategies to increase their child’s self-esteem and reduce aggressive behaviour problems.

The programme length is 12 weeks – 2 hours per week (term-time only).

Incredible Years – early years and school age

Webster-Stratton parenting groups

These groups are aimed at parents/carers who are experiencing significant levels of challenging behaviour from their children. 

The sessions are facilitated by professionals from the Educational Psychology Service (EPS) and from Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS).

These programmes are 12 to 14 weekly group sessions.

  • Age range: for parents with children aged 3 to 11 years
  • Dates and time details: Wednesdays 10am - 12pm from 22 January to 30 April 2025

Strengthening Families, Strengthening Communities (SFSC)

A culturally sensitive programme that supports parents to strengthen their parenting skills and enhance relationships with their children.

It addresses issues relating to community violence – including drugs, guns and knife crime.

The programme length is 13 weeks – 3 hours per week (term-time only).

  • Age range: for parents with children aged 3 to 18 years
  • Start/end dates: from 21 January to 22 April 2025
  • Time details: Tuesday, 10am to 1pm
  • Venue: Triangle Centre Family Hub, N15

Specialist programme: Mellow Parenting – Growing Together

This group is for mothers who experience low mood or anxiety and parents who would like support with the emotional challenges of parenting.

Children will be supported to develop good routines, manage their emotions and build positive relationships.

The programme length is 14 weeks – each session is 5 hours.

  • Age range: for parents with children aged 1 to 5 years
  • Start/end dates: from 29 January to 30 April 2025
  • Time details: Wednesday, 9am to 3pm
  • Venue: Triangle Centre Family Hub, N15

Specialist programme: Cygnet Parenting

The Cygnet programme is for parents of children with a diagnosis of autism.

This programme provides parents with support, information and extra strategies when responding to the needs of children with autism.

The programme length is 6 weeks – 3 hours per session.

  • Age range: for parents with children aged 6 to 18 years
  • Start/end dates: from 10 January to 14 February 2025
  • Time details: Fridays, 10am to 1pm
  • Venue: Pembury House Nursery School and Children's Centre, N17

Specialist programme: Caring Dads

Caring Dads supports fathers to improve their relationships with their children, develop strategies to manage their frustration and find ways to reduce parental conflict.

They learn how to become more involved as fathers and be a positive influence on their child or children.

The programme length is 17 weeks – each session is 2 hours (delivered in the evening).

  • Age range: for parents with children aged 0 to 16 years
  • Start/end dates: from 7 January to 6 May 2025
  • Time details: Tuesdays, 6pm to 8pm

ABC Parenting Programme

ABC stands for 'Achieving a Better Community'.

The ABC programme targets health and social inequalities by providing hands-on health education to a targeted cohort of parents from deprived communities.

The programme is for parents in Enfield and Haringey with little or no knowledge/confidence around child health, common illnesses and lifesaving skills.

  • Age range: for parents with babies aged 0 to 6 months
  • Weekday courses: 9.30am to 2.30pm
  • Saturday courses: 9.30am to 3pm

Triple P Programme (Teens)

The 3 Ps in ‘Triple P’ stand for ‘Positive Parenting Programme'. The programme doesn't tell you how to be a parent. It's more like a toolbox of ideas.

You choose the strategies you need. You choose the way you want to use them.

The programme length is 8 weeks – each session is 2 hours.

  • Age range: for parents with children aged 11 to 18 years
  • Start/end dates:
    • from 9 January to 27 February 2025
    • from 13 March to 1 May 2025
  • Time details: Thursday, 10am to 12 noon
  • Venue: Muswell Hill Centre Family Hub, N10

Specialist programme: Circle of Security

A programme that helps parents and caregivers understand and respond to their children’s emotional needs to build secure attachments. It encourages caregivers to observe and interpret their children’s behaviour and emotion. By learning to recognise these cues, parents can provide a supportive environment that fosters children’s confidence, resilience, and social-emotional growth.

The programme length is 8 weeks – each session is 1 hour.

Specialist programme: Parenting When Separated

As practical, supportive programme designed to help separated or divorced parents navigate the unique challenges of co-parenting. It provides strategies to reduce conflict, manage stress, and support children’s emotional well-being during and after a separation. 

The programme length is 8 weeks – each session is 1 hour.

Specialist programme: Reducing Parental Conflict

A programme designed to help parents manage and minimise conflicts that can negatively impact their children’s wellbeing.

It provides tools for effective communication, conflict resolution, and stress management.

The programme length is 10 weeks – each session is 2 hours.

Specialist programme: Cornerstone VR

An innovative, immersive experience designed to help parents and caregivers develop stronger emotional connections and improve parenting skills using virtual reality technology.

This programme uses realistic VR scenarios to let participants practice effective communication, empathy and conflict resolution in a safe, controlled environment.

The programme length is 8 weeks – each session is 2 hours.
