Wood Green Common

The Common is within 5 minutes walk of Wood Green tube station. It's often used for informal kick-abouts and picnics.

Barratt Gardens are the formal gardens that lie to the south of the common. Here you’ll find a wisteria covered pergola that offers shade from both the sun and rain.

Improvement works

Works to improve Wood Green Common will start on 6 January 2025. 

The improvement works will comprise of the following:

  • new small children’s play area
  • new Multi Use Games Area (MUGA)
  • new outdoor gym 
  • new Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems 
  • soft landscaping – including planting of new trees
  • new footways and park furniture 

These works will require a full temporary closure of the Wood Green Common park area. We will update this page with details on reopening when they will become available.
