Our libraries hosted a number of exciting events over the half-term break and the fun wlll continue for residents across the borough with a number of different activities that benefit people of all ages.
Some of the highlights coming up include a story time session to mark Stephen Lawrence Day at Alexandra Park Library next Monday morning (22 April, 10:30am – 11am), which is appropriate for children aged four and above.
Marcus Garvey Library will be showing the Stephen Lawrence documentary ‘15’ (2019, 100 minutes) that afternoon (4pm – 5:30pm).
At Coombes Croft Library next Tuesday afternoon (23 April, 4pm – 5pm), we’ll be holding a Reading Hour to celebrate World Book Night, where you can come along and read any book of your choice or pick up a free copy of one of the recommended books.
Also next Tuesday, Highgate Library (3:30pm – 4:30pm, 4+) and Hornsey Library (3:30pm – 4:30pm, 3+) shall host Dragon and Knight crafts activities, where young children can make their own knight or dragon to celebrate St George’s Day.
There’s a digital skills workshop with Coffee and Computers at Hornsey Library next Wednesday (10:30am – 12:30am), when there’ll also be a Shakespeare Bookmark crafts event (3:30pm – 4:30pm) at the very same community hub to help celebrate the Bard’s birthday by creating some fun bookmarks to take home in his honour.
Meanwhile, at Wood Green Library, there’s an Earth Day presentation from the Muswell Hill branch of Friends of the Earth next Monday (23 April, 6pm – 7pm) and the latest instalment in our Around the World Film Festival with the Polish flick ‘The Illumination’ (1973, 15, 91 minutes) next Thursday (25 April, 5pm).
