Partners, stakeholders, Haringey Council, and various community groups worked together to bring festive joy to Broadwater Farm residents and the wider community, helping put together a series of events over the holiday season.
The annual children’s Christmas party happened on Thursday 21 December. Over 50 local children came to the party, where there were fun games, and visit from Santa, with a special gift for each child. Councillor Peray Ahmet, Leader of Haringey Council, was joined by Councillors Ruth Gordon, Nicola Bartlett, and Zena Brabazon, along with officers and volunteers, at Broadwater Farm Community Centre. They helped to wrap presents and celebrated the festive season with the children.
On Friday, 22 December, around 60 residents enjoyed a delicious festive lunch - with turkey! - helping to bring people together during this special time of year. Also, during the week, children from the estate were treated with tickets to Christmas pantomime at the Hackney Empire.
We would like to extend sincere gratitude to the partners who donated and helped make these festivities possible: Airey Miller, Alban, Church on the Farm, DCK Construction, DBR Conservation, Equans, Hughes & Salvidge, Morgan Sindall Group, One Aldwych, Pitman Tozer Architects, PRP Architects, Ridge and Partners, Trowers & Hamlins, Veolia, Wheely Tots and Broadwater Farm Residents’ Association.
Their generosity not only brought holiday cheer to the Broadwater Farm community but also serves as an example of how we can work together to improve the lives of our residents.
