Highgate Library to close for major refurbishments
Haringey residents can look forward to improved and more accessible library facilities in the west of the borough, with Highgate Library set to undergo a major refurbishment.
Highgate Library will close from 9 February for improvement works which include installing a new lift and accessible toilet, new bespoke lighting, new furniture, interior redecoration and a reconfigured floorplan.
This is all part of Haringey Council’s major investment programme which has been investing over £4.9 million in libraries across the borough over a four-year period.
The renovated Library is scheduled to reopen in autumn 2023. During the closure, Highgate Library users will be able to access library services at nearby Muswell Hill Library (Queens Avenue, Muswell Hill, N10 3PE) or online.
Items borrowed from Highgate Library can be returned and renewed in any council-run library in Haringey.
Nearby Alexandra Park library, which is also undergoing major improvement works, remains closed but is set to reopen soon.
