Wear your poppy with pride
The Mayor of Haringey Cllr Lester Buxton has pinned on his poppy in support of the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal and urged other residents to do the same.
The Poppy Appeal runs until Remembrance Day and money raised goes towards the Royal British Legion’s welfare and benevolent work in support of serving and ex-service people and their families.
Cllr Buxton said:
“I am very proud to wear a poppy and support the Royal British Legion’s poppy appeal.
“I hope that Haringey residents will join me in paying tribute to those serving the country today, as well as honouring the countless service men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice and given their lives in service."
Poppies and donation boxes can be found in Haringey’s libraries, and on the reception desk of Alexandra House and George Meehan House.
