Week of Action to focus on Crouch End
A Week of Action is currently underway in Crouch End where crime and antisocial behaviour are among the key issues to be addressed by Haringey Council.
The Week of Action will take place from 23 - 29 January and will focus in and around Crouch End town centre.
Activities will include joint patrols by the police and the council’s antisocial behaviour and waste enforcement teams, youth engagement sessions from Haringey Community Gold, community engagement work from addiction support group BUBIC, and inspections by the council’s Trading Standards and Private Sector Housing teams.
There will be a hub based outside Hornsey Town Hall each weekday from 1– 3pm for residents to discuss any issues or concerns they have with Council staff.
Haringey Council plans to coordinate one Week of Action per month, each one targeting a different area of the borough. Previous weeks of action have taken place in Bruce Grove and Wood Green.
Cllr Adam Jogee, Cabinet Member for Economic Development, Jobs and Community Cohesion, said:
“When we started our weeks of action initiative, we committed to target every corner of the borough – so it’s brilliant to be able to focus this week on Crouch End and the wider N8 area.
“Our previous weeks of action in Bruce Grove and Wood Green proved to be great opportunities to connect with our residents, tackle key issues and learn more about what needs to be done to deliver long-term changes and improvements.
“If you’re out and about in the area this week, do come and engage with your ward councillors and council officers so we can work together to make Crouch End the best place to live, learn and work."
