Young musicians in Haringey are getting ready for their big night on the festival stage, as rehearsals are underway for Finsbury Park’s Schools Summer Festival.
Taking place on Wednesday 5 July, the event will see the community gather in Finsbury Park to hear performances from some of Haringey’s best young musical talents.
Sapir, 12, is very excited about the concert.
“I can’t wait to play for the public, and I can’t wait to show how important music is for me.”
12-year-old Esther shares his enthusiasm.
“I’m excited because it’s going to be a big event and I’ll get to show everyone how talented I am at playing music.”
Also 12, Clara is also looking forward to the event.
“It’s outdoors and last time we played an outdoors concert it was really fun!”
Finsbury Park’s Schools Summer Festival is one of two community events taking place in Finsbury Park thanks to funding from this year’s major events programme.
The other is Finsbury Fest, which will see local artists from Haringey, Islington and Hackney grace the stage.
