The user-friendly design enables website visitors to zoom in to discover the variety of street trees planted in their neighbourhood. The interactive map shows which of the trees are community sponsored.

Haringey has achieved another record-breaking year by planting almost 2,500 trees as part of its efforts to tackle climate change, including 665 in the borough’s streets, open spaces and housing estates.

The council has set out targets to increase canopy cover to 30 per cent in all wards and plant at least 10,000 trees by 2030 to kickstart this process.

Cllr Mike Hakata, Cabinet Member for Climate Action, Environment and Transport, said:

I’m really pleased we have published the new version of our interactive map, which showcases the variety of species planted.

We want to end the unfairness that some streets have generous shade and greenery, and others have very little. We are focusing our tree planting on the streets that currently have the least.

It's been another great year of tree-planting in Haringey, but we've only just begun - we want to keep on planting until every neighbourhood has at least 30% tree cover.
