Information and guidance for market operators and traders

Our new Haringey markets strategy lists a number of recommendations to support current markets and facilitate potential future market site locations, further supporting entrepreneurial activity and vibrancy of our high streets.

Expressions of interest

In 2025, we will be seeking expressions of interest from current market operators or those new to operating markets to work with us on the provision of future markets at the following locations:

  • Crouch End – Hornsey Town Hall Square or Weston Park
  • Muswell Hill – St James's Square (adjacent to Planet Organic and Everyman Cinema)
  • Bruce Grove, Tottenham – Scotland Green (adjacent to Bluecoats and The Victoria public houses)

Street trading licences

The street trading licences section of our website has some very useful information and guidance for operators of open air markets and traders, including:

  • licences available
  • fees
  • charges
  • how to apply

National Association of British Markets

The National Association of British Markets (NABMA) has exclusive content, as well as continuous professional development (CPD) and training opportunities for its members. Most market operators are members so should have login details.

Visit the NAMBA website for more information.

National Market Traders Federation

The National Market Traders Federation (NMTF) website has some very useful guidance for market traders whether you’re an existing trader, or looking to become one.
