Parenting support

Parenting can be both rewarding and challenging – and it’s normal to feel like you’re struggling at times.

There’s support available for parents and carers who want some practical support during difficult times. This can help you:

  • build healthy parent-child relationships
  • improve the health and wellbeing of your family
  • support your children’s education and school attendance
  • encourage your family’s independence, resilience and aspiration

Haringey Early Help service

Our Early Help service aims to take action as early as possible when problems are identified in a family. We also work with families to develop strategies that make them stronger for the future.

You can get help from:

  • family support services – for families affected by multiple issues where children aged 0-19 are present
  • services for young people – for young people aged 10 to 19 (up to 25 if they have additional support needs)
  • Children’s Centres – for children aged 0 to 5 and their families
  • Youth Justice – for children aged 10 to 18 who are at risk of, or involved in offending behaviour

Haringey Safeguarding Children Partnership

Professionals (such as teachers, doctors, and social workers) all work together to make sure children and young people are safe.

One of the ways that they do this is by talking to each other and letting each other know if they have worries about a child, because of something they have seen, heard or noticed.
