Starting from 19 January 2026 we will be introducing uniformed neighbourhood patrols of the communal areas and public spaces across:
- Northumberland Park Estate/Rothbury Walk
- Stellar House, Altair Close, Lindales, Brookdale (SALB)
- Victoria Crescent, Kerswell Close, Helston Court
- and Rosa Luxemburg Court (just outside of Northumberland Park).
The patrol team will work ‘out of hours’ (evenings and nights), ten hours a day, seven days a week. Their role is to:
- deter antisocial behaviour from happening
- reassure estate residents and provide an anonymous referral point for them to share concerns (though criminal and antisocial behaviour should still be reported to the police and council)
- support vulnerable people they come across and signpost them to help
- support other frontline council services (eg repairs, estates maintenance)
