Hurricane Melissa was a catastrophic Category 5 hurricane that hit Jamaica on October 28, 2025, causing unprecedented damage and becoming the strongest hurricane ever recorded in the country.

Haringey Relief Hub

A huge thank you to our amazing community for the kindness and generosity shown to those affected by Hurricane Melissa.

Over four donation days in November and December at the Haringey Relief Hub, 42 volunteers collected and packed 3,500+ essential items, and 83 boxes have been shipped to those in need.

The Relief Hub has been a partnership between Haringey Council, African & Caribbean Network, The Daughters United, The Trampery Workspace, Launchit Trust – Angel Yard and REACT Edmonton.

When our community comes together, we achieve great things.
