Register to vote

Whether you can register to vote in Haringey depends on your:

• age – you must be aged 16 or over (but you cannot vote until you are 18)
• nationality – you can register to vote if you are a British citizen or an Irish citizen
• residency – you need to either:
  • live at an address in Haringey
  • be a British citizen living overseas whose last address was in Haringey

You can also register if you have permission to enter or stay in the UK, Channel Islands or Isle of Man – or you do not need permission – and you are a:

• Commonwealth citizen
• citizen of Denmark, Luxembourg, Poland, Portugal or Spain
• citizen of another EU country, if you have had permission to enter or stay – or not needed permission – since 31 December 2020, and this has continued without a break

If you have moved house since you last voted, you must re-register at your new address. Everyone eligible in your home must register individually.

Register online

The easiest way to register to vote is to complete the online form on GOV.UK:

You will be asked for your National Insurance (NI) number. If you cannot find it, you can find a lost National Insurance number online or call the NI helpline on 0300 200 3502.

Once we've checked your application to register, we'll write to either confirm that you're registered or to ask for more details.

Register using a paper form

You can download and print a paper form from GOV.UK, or request a paper application form to be sent to you in the post.

Completed application forms can be returned to us by post or as an email attachment to elections@haringey.gov.uk

How to check if you are registered

Use our am I registered to vote form to check if you are registered at your address. You can only check your own registration.

You can check when your name will appear on the register.
