Autism Reference Group

The Autism Reference Group (ARG) for autistic adults without a co-occurring learning disability had its first meeting in December 2017. The group was created to represent autistic adults in Haringey in shaping and consulting on issues related to health, social care, and community services.

The ARG wishes to both inform existing services on the specialist needs of autistic adults, whilst also helping to shape new services and contribute to making Haringey an autism-friendly borough.

The ARG is one of many different reference groups that represent disabled people and people with long-term health conditions. These reference groups all send representatives to the Joint Partnership Board, where senior council and health staff are present.

It is important to recognise that the ARG is not a support group, but is there to inform and influence strategy and how services are provided in the borough.

If you’d like to join us in person or online, please email us at autismhub@haringey.gov.uk
