'Akrodha' by Kiran Sodhi-Kalsi-Ghatoure at Karamel

to

zerOclassikal and Collage Arts present the world premiere of Akrodha, composed by Kiran Sodhi-Kalsi-Ghatoure. It blends analogue and digital sounds to create an otherworldly experience.

Kiran will be performing with bansuri (bamboo flute), dilruba (bowed sitar) and a digital loop station, accompanied by multi-instrumentalist Joe Steele who will be performing with synth keyboard, melodica and western concert flute.

Akrodha (meaning "freedom from anger") draws inspiration from Kiran’s experiences with EMDR therapy and non-Western healing practices. This composition unfolds in a dream-like landscape of layered, looping soundscapes, exploring the tension between conflicting multiplicity and harmonious unity, both within ourselves and in communication with those around us.

As the music progresses, heavy emotions are unearthed and transformed, leading the overall mood to lightness and liberation.
