Library of Moments – these works mark for Ariella, key experiences in all their light and shade. Through her work she responds to these experiences, often working on, or ‘mending’ them within the collage.
She perceives that Nature is key: a stage for us as humans on which to tell our story and to hold to in moments of doubt.
Her imaginary animals explore mysteries and unknown feelings. The birds change their wings as they journey. They fly above and can see more than is clear to us below. Animals, figures, birds and nature are washed with colour, they dance towards an alternate space where much is possible and doubt and hope can live together.
Current realities can get woven in unexpected ways into this storytelling.
Ariella Green trained at St Martin’s School of Art, Goldsmiths College and Manchester Metropolitan University and has exhibited with the Crafts Council, 62 Group of Textile Artists and New Fibre Art group. She is a member of the Contemporary Applied Arts (CAA) Gallery in London.
