Join us for three relaxing workshops at the Museum of Homelessness where you can learn how to create art alongside nature in the most bio-diverse space in Finsbury Park.
Your ticket entitles you to attend all 3 workshops.
Week 1: Daisy balm making and Gelli-plate printing.
In the first workshop of the series, we will be making our own healing daisy balm and beautiful prints using plants from our garden. Our facilitators will guide you through the process of making balm, why daisies are the perfect flower to promote skin healing and how to use other plants and herbs in a similar way. We will then let you loose to pick interesting plants and textures straight from our garden to use as your printing medium to create beautiful Gelli-plate works of art.
Week 2: Sketching and Tile-making
For our final session, we’ll give you time to sketch within the beautiful garden space of the Museum and guide you on how to turn that sketch into a unique piece of art using the leaf and plant-life that inspired you. Using air-dry clay, we’ll create beautiful flower-printed tiles using a few different methods.
Week 3: Terrariums and Tea
Inspired by our hand-made planters in the Museum garden, you will be creating a mini-terrarium using some of the seedling plants grown in our greenhouse. We will also guide you through the fundamentals of how to make your own nettle and stickyweed tea, both plants known to have anti-hayfever and healing properties.
