Coppicing workshop in the orchard, Lordship Rec

to

Join us for a hands-on coppicing workshop in the beautiful Lordship Rec Orchard!

Learn the traditional woodland management technique of hazel coppicing, where trees are cut to ground level to stimulate new growth. We will then use the stakes, whips and brash to create hurdles around the younger trees and replenish the dead hedges. This event will take place in the Lordship Rec Orchard, a magical community space and wildlife haven.

To guide you will be Orchard co manager Sally Haywill, Orchard volunteers and Suz Williams, expert coppice worker. No experience necessary.

Don't miss this opportunity to connect with nature, gain practical green skills and contribute to the health of our local ecosystem.

Sign up now on Eventbrite and let's get ready to coppice!

Activities include:

  • coppicing hazel trees
