Join us at OmVed Gardens for our annual spring seed swap. A wonderful opportunity for gardeners of all levels to come together, share seeds, exchange gardening tips, and celebrate the spring equinox. Learn more about the seed saving network and explore the gardens, library and meet the team and some special guests.
Whether you're a seasoned gardener or just starting out, we look forward to meeting you. Don't forget to bring your seeds (if you have them!), stories, and a spirit of sharing!
Event Highlights:
Seed Share: bring your surplus seeds and discover new varieties to try in your garden next season. From heirloom vegetables to rare flowers, there's something for everyone – we love to receive seeds and appreciate donations but don’t feel pressure coming empty handed!
Winnowing fans and seed baskets: OmVed Gardens artist of the month of April, Éamonn Ó Hairtnéada, will be showing his current research on seed baskets and give live demos. He'll bring his European scuttle work; a technique used for the making of historic winnowing fans; and used to separate the wheat from chaff, and his traditional Irish ash riddles used to sift oats and barleys. Éamonn is an Irish/Dutch visual artist, farmer and craftsmaker based in Devonshire, England. Post arts education he studied an MA in Regenerative Economics at Schumacher College. He uses the materiality and metaphors of weaving to explore holistic, regenerative and ecological narratives. He co-hosts Hedging with Faggots and Friends hedgelaying courses and has recently designed a public garden; The Interwoven Garden at De Ateliers, Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
Community Networking: connect with fellow gardening enthusiasts, share your experiences, and build a network of local gardeners.
Refreshments: enjoy seasonal refreshments made from locally sourced ingredients, including herbal teas, freshly baked goods, and more at the newly opened Omved Café.
Visit the exhibition 'Bisila Noha: Ile Ọkàn (House of the Soul)' – a solo exhibition by Bisila Noha, a Spanish-Equatoguinean London-based ceramic artist, researcher and writer. Expanding on Bisila’s first Ile Ọkàn, originally built in Ikise, Nigeria, during a residency in 2025, the exhibition reflects on a 4-year journey of material and spiritual exploration, bringing together sculpture, vessels, stools, photography and sound to create a space that is part shrine, part altar, part sacred room, all shaped by ritual, memory, and a desire for connection.
