SoundHoppers – listening and sound exploration online workshop

to

Looking for at home kids activities for February half term?

Join us for a free online workshop of listening and music games.

SoundHoppers is a sound exploration workshop for children aged between 5 and 11.

The workshop encourages attentive listening through a series of games that explore sound – whether that is proximity (how far or close a sound is), timbre (the tonality and type of sound), or volume (how loud or quiet a sound is).

Increase your child's listening and social skills in this participatory group workshop.

WOW! (child participant)

Really great session! Lots of fun and I hope you run another one! (child participant)

Delivered on Zoom, SoundHoppers is presented by Frazer Merrick, a sound artist who uses field recording, circuit bending and instrument building to create carnivalesque sonic experiences.

Join us for a fun morning of listening games including 'guess the sound' and even 'design your own own alien instrument!'

Note: Children should have a laptop or tablet, headphones, internet access, papers, and pens.

SoundHoppers is a Modus Arts project funded by Arts Council England.
