Sustainable fashion – an evening of insights, information and solutions

A free evening of 3 expert talks, followed by questions and answers, as well as refreshments.

We'll hear from:

  • Ali McAleavy (founder of ZIG+STAR, sustainable kids’ footwear)
  • Tim Browne (Ministry of Denim, sustainable denim consultant)
  • Jose Baladron (Traid, second-hand clothing charity retailer)

The fast fashion industry is the second biggest consumer of water and is responsible for about 10% of global carbon emissions – more than all international flights and shipping combined! With 85% of all textile then ending up in landfill (source: UN Environment Programme).

Each speaker will be approaching the problem from a different perspective. They will all be talking about:

  • innovation
  • changing consumer behaviours
  • reducing waste and emissions
  • supporting improved farming practices and working conditions to change the future of fashion

The event is open and relevant to all!
