Hoarding
A hoarding disorder is where someone acquires an excessive number of items and stores them in a chaotic manner, usually resulting in unmanageable amounts of clutter. The items can be of little or no monetary value.
This is a complex mental health issue and we will always make a referral so that we can:
- get the appropriate support in place for the individual concerned
- manage the impacts on their neighbours
Cuckooing
Cuckooing is where a vulnerable adult – often an older, single male – has their home taken over by other individuals for criminal purposes. It is incredibly damaging for the victims who often experience violence, psychological distress and threats from criminal networks.
We work in partnership with the police to protect the victim and exclude the criminals from the area.
