We are responsible for ensuring that residents, businesses and visitors comply with environmental health legislation and standards.
The objective of these policies is to inform residents and businesses what they may expect from enforcement officers and the decision-making framework which will apply in deciding what, if any, of its powers to exercise in enforcing the provisions of the law.
Using enforcement powers effectively is a key part of the council’s strategy to tackle environmental issues that impact neighbourhoods.
Haringey Council has recently updated its Private Sector Housing policy in respect of the use and administration of Civil Penalty Notices. For the full Private Sector Housing Policy see below.
