The Railway Fields volunteer group is called Friends of Railway Fields. They work to preserve and maintain the Fields.

Green Flag Award
First awarded the prestigious Green Flag Award in 2004, it has kept it ever since.

History
The 2-acre site was used as a railway goods yard in the 1950s. Even today coal can be found onsite.
Haringey Council acquired the land in the early 1980s. In 1986 the site became a wildlife haven and environmental teaching centre for local schools.
In 1990 Railway Fields was officially declared a statutory local nature reserve.
