Chess

Where you can play chess in Haringey.

Chess is a wonderful sport, suitable for all ages and abilities. It is recognised for its ability to reduce stress and bring together people from all types of backgrounds. It is estimated that 605 million adults worldwide can play chess and we are excited to be able to bring so many opportunities to harness that love for chess in the Borough!

There are now 3 more outdoor chess tables within our parks, including Finsbury Park, Ducketts Common and Lordship Recreation Ground.

You can also find a Chess Club at Hornsey Library every Thursday, 3.30pm to 6pm. Friendly and fun – bring your own board and play in a relaxed environment with other fans of the great game.

See the what's on in libraries brochure for more information on library activities and other chess clubs in Haringey libraries.

Chess is also taught in a number of schools across Haringey, with more information on Chess in Schools website.
