Haringey’s paddling pools to open 7-days-a-week this summer

With the weather getting warmer, Haringey families can look forward to more free water play opportunities for children as the borough’s paddling pools are set to open 7-days-a-week for the whole of the summer season.

There are three public paddling pools in Haringey spread across the borough in Priory Park, Lordship Recreation Ground and Bruce Castle Park. They provide kids with hours of fun and the chance to cool down on hot summer days.

The pools, which are free to use for all children under-8 with no booking required, are usually open 7-days-a-week during the school summer holidays and Friday-Sunday for the rest of the summer.

But  thanks to funding identified by Haringey Council, this year they will be open 7-days-a-week for the entire summer season, starting from the beginning of the summer half term on 27 May and continuing until the end of the summer holidays in September.

Cllr Sarah Williams, Cabinet Member for Finance and Local Investment, said:

“We’re delighted to be able to extend the opening of our public paddling pools for the whole of the summer season this year. We know how important free outdoor activities are for our children and families during the summer months, and in the hot weather there’s nothing better than water play to help children cool down and have fun .

“I invite all residents with young children to visit their local paddling pool and the many other opportunities for recreation and play in our borough’s wonderful parks.”
