Got any unwanted sports equipment, books, picture frames, bikes, tables, chairs or other household items that could benefit other north Londoners?
Haringey Council, North London Waste Authority (NLWA) and London Energy Ltd have teamed up to launch a designated drop off point for good quality, reusable household items at Western Road Reuse and Recycling Centre in Wood Green.
Once donated, the pre-loved items are taken to the NLWA’s Reuse Shop in Chingford to be sold at affordable prices to people from across north London.
Cllr Mike Hakata, Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Climate Action, Environment and Transport said:
I’m delighted we have joined forces with the NLWA and London Energy to deliver this important initiative.
Donating in this way reduces landfill and promotes a circular economy, while helping families facing financial difficulties access genuinely affordable household items.
Social justice and climate justice go hand in hand and this project helps us deliver on both.
Western Road Reuse and Recycling Centre is open seven days a week, with the drop-off point available during opening hours. Find out more about the reuse shop at nlwa.gov.uk/reuse-shop.
