Week of Action to focus on Turnpike Lane and Green Lanes

The latest in our series of Weeks of Action is set to get underway on Monday in Turnpike Lane and Green Lanes, where crime and antisocial behaviour are among the key issues to be addressed by Haringey Council.

The Week of Action will take place from 24-30 July, and will focus on the area around Turnpike Lane station, Duckett's Common and Green Lanes.

Activities will include joint patrols by the police and the council’s antisocial behaviour and waste enforcement teams.

There will also be youth engagement sessions from Haringey Community Gold, community engagement work from the council’s hate crime prevention team, and inspections by the council’s Parking Enforcement, Planning Enforcement, Trading Standards, Environmental Health and Private Sector Housing teams.

There will be a hub each weekday, giving opportunities for residents to discuss any issues or concerns they have with council staff. Following resident feedback from previous weeks of action, we will be organising hubs at different times and locations each day to give more residents the chance to engage. A full timetable for the hubs is below:

  • Monday 24 July, 11am-1pm: Duckett's Common Bus Stop
  • Tuesday 25 July, 1-3 pm: Outside the Salisbury Hotel, Green Lanes
  • Wednesday 26 July, 4-6 pm: Outside Green Gate Common, West Green Road
  • Thursday 27 July, 11 am-1 pm: Duckett's Common Bus Stop
  • Friday 28 July, 1-3 pm: Outside the Salisbury Hotel, Green Lanes

Haringey Council plans to coordinate one Week of Action per month, each one targeting a different area of the borough. Previous weeks of action have taken place in Bruce Grove, Wood Green, Crouch End, Tottenham Hale, Muswell Hill and Northumberland Park.
