164 Haringey families with children who receive Free School Meals (FSMs) recently enjoyed a special day out at London Zoo as part of our Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme.
All the attendees received free entry and a complimentary lunch, with the weather thankfully lovely on the day itself too.
Many of the families who chatted to our Active Communities team on the ground spoke of how they’d lived in the capital their whole lives, but they’d never been able to afford a trip to London Zoo.
They were therefore extremely grateful for the opportunity of a family day out that would usually cost over £100 as they basked in the sunshine among the various animals and wildlife.
