The dedicated forum brings together the council and local community to collaborate on practical steps that can be taken to tackle the climate emergency.
The event takes place at Alexandra House, 10 Station Road, Wood Green, N22 7TR on Thursday 30 January 2024 from 6.30pm to 8.30pm. The theme will be minimising waste through reuse, repair, recycling and the circular economy.
Cllr Mike Hakata, Cabinet Member for Climate Action, Environment and Transport, said:
So many people in our borough are taking inspiring action to create a more sustainable and vibrant Haringey.
Whether you're concerned about green spaces, air quality, or simply want to contribute to making Haringey a more pleasant place to live, your input is invaluable.
The partnership embodies the council’s commitment to work together with the community. We invite you to join us and look forward to collaborating with you on shaping a fairer, greener Haringey.
The partnership is open to all and gives individuals, community groups and businesses the opportunity to hear about climate related activity taking place around the borough, share their own ideas and projects and to develop joint solutions with the council for a low-carbon future.
It grew out of Haringey's commitment to becoming a net zero carbon borough by 2041 and is part of the Haringey Deal - recognition that the council doesn’t have all the answers and needs to draw on the expertise, insights and energy in our communities.
