Sara Sutton will take up the role of Corporate Director of Adults, Housing and Health, whilst Jo Baty has been selected as the Director of Adult Social Care.
Sara, who is currently Assistant Director for Partnerships, Communities and Housing Demand at Haringey, steps up on 1st April 2025 following the retirement of the Director of Adults and Health, Beverley Tarka, after 30 years at the council.
Sara will lead a new Adults, Housing and Health directorate which brings together the core services aimed at supporting vulnerable adults and consolidates the council’s housing functions in one place.
Sara joined Haringey in 2020 and has gained significant director level experience across a wide range of council departments, including Adults, Homelessness and Health. As Assistant Director for Partnerships and Communities, she led the development of the Haringey Borough Partnership on behalf of the council and has focused on a partnership approach to areas such as community mental health and addressing health inequalities.
Jo Baty, who will report into Sara, has been Interim Director of Operations in Adult Social Care and steps into the permanent Director of Adult Social Care (DASS) role on 1st April 2025.
Jo is an experienced long serving public sector leader who has worked across both Children’s and Adults services and most recently was Operations Director for Adults at Hammersmith and Fulham Council.
Andy Donald, Chief Executive at Haringey Council, said:
I’m delighted that Sara and Jo have been appointed to these key leadership roles in our new Adults, Housing and Health directorate.
They both bring extensive senior management experience and are perfectly placed to lead the delivery of these crucial frontline services to our residents.
I’m confident their expertise, insight and passion will be a huge asset and look forward to working with them as we drive these services forward.
