
There are two ‘Meet the Author’ events at Hornsey Library, where Greta Sykes will be launching her new book Eve Meets Dante – ‘a profound exploration of the intersections between mythology, history and gender’ and ‘a vivid and enlightening re-imagining of women’s roles throughout history’ – in Community Room 1 this Friday (14 March 2025, 5pm-6:30pm).
Christy Lefteri – author of the hugely successful The Beekeeper of Aleppo – will also be giving a talk there later this month on Tuesday 25 March 2025 (1:30pm-2:30pm). Book your place now to hear from Christy, whose award-winning work often explores themes of displacement, identity and the human condition.
As well as the author talks and book launches, there are loads of arts and craft activities for children aged four to 12* at St Ann’s Library (Saturdays in March, 10:30am-12noon, *Children under nine should accompanied by a carer/parent) and storytime sessions at Alexandra Park Library (Mondays in March, 10:30am-11am).
There’s also WHM-themed Wellness and Art Therapy workshops at Coombes Croft Library (Wednesdays in March, 11am-1pm) and Community Art workshops at Marcus Garvey Library (Thursdays in March, 2pm-4pm).
With Mothering Sunday on 30 March this year, children can make their own Mother’s Day card at Hornsey Library (Friday 28 March 2025, 4pm-5pm, *Suitable for children aged three and above), Coombes Croft Library (Saturday 29 March 2025, 11am-12noon, *Suitable for children aged four to 11) or Marcus Garvey Library (Saturday 29 March 2025, 10:30am-11:30am) later this month.
There will be a special Mother’s Day storytime session too at Hornsey Library on Tuesday 25 March 2025, 10:30am-11am, Suitable for children aged one to five).
