We welcome any additional funding that has been announced by the Chancellor following the government's spending review.

Haringey has made it a priority to deliver new council homes for our residents, and we are delighted to hear that there will be a "new Affordable Homes Programme", which will get an investment of £39bn in the next decade.

We will obviously wait to find out the fuller details of what this will mean for our borough, but we hope it will contribute to the incredible work that is being done as we look to deliver 3000 new council homes at council rent by 2031.

We will continue to lobby for a fairer funding system that both protects critical services and enables us to invest in prevention so we can keep costs down and meet the needs of all our communities.

The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, has said he will fight for the investment that we need so we can build a fairer, safer and greener London for everyone and we will continue to work with the Mayor’s Office for the benefit of Haringey and the capital as a whole.
