A second School Street will be introduced at the Everington Road entrance on Monday 1 December 2025 to complement the successful scheme at Coldfall Avenue.
It will join the growing network of School Streets in Haringey which has now reached an impressive 36 covering 44 educational establishments.
Cllr Mike Hakata, Cabinet Member for Climate Action, Environment and Transport, said:
Our expanding School Streets programme is transforming journeys for thousands of children and playing a crucial part in building a fairer, greener Haringey.
School Streets are fundamental to our vision of becoming a walkable borough. When we design streets that are safe and inviting for children to walk and cycle independently, we create places that work for everyone. Each new School Street strengthens the network of connected, pedestrian-friendly routes across Haringey.
With big reductions in motor traffic, increases in active travel and improved air quality around the school gates, this Streets for People initiative goes from strength to strength.
I'm delighted that the opportunity for a healthier start and end to the school day for children at Coldfall Primary will increase with the launch of this School Street.
School Streets encourage more children to travel to and from school on foot, bike or scooter in a safe, fun and active way, cutting air pollution and creating a more pleasant environment at the school gates.
More than 17,000 children now benefit from zones spanning almost 14km during drop-off and pick-up times.
Only people walking, cycling and wheeling, and those with vehicle exemption permits, are eligible to enter the zone while the School Street is in operation.
People who live or have a business inside the scheme can apply for free exemptions here.
Introduction of School Streets follows extensive engagement with the parents, schools and local community.
