Clara Dublanc has been named Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Haringey Culture Collective, the new charity which has been established to deliver the programme. Clara joins Haringey’s Creative Director for London Borough of Culture 2027, Beki Bateson, who has been working with the council in the development of the programme and legacy strategy.

Clara is a cultural producer working at the intersection of visual arts, participation, and human rights. Hailing from Argentina and Chile, she has been a Tottenham resident for the past decade. Her work explores themes of mobility, cultural diversity, and social justice.

With a background in political science, she is the founder of Itinerant Works, a creative production studio that has developed large-scale contemporary art projects in the UK and abroad over the past decade. Clara has served as Managing Director of Oscar Murillo Studio, Co-Director of the Frequencies Institute, and has collaborated with artists and collectives such as Tai Shani, Alia Farid, and Liminal in Italy. She has also developed projects with Migrants Rights Network and Autograph.

She is a trustee of QUEERCIRCLE and an advisor to Counterpoints.

Speaking about her appointment, Clara said:

After spending the last decade delivering international arts projects and exhibitions, it is a real honour to join Haringey Culture Collective and contribute to an ambitious cultural programme and lasting legacy right on my doorstep, in the communities where my family and I live.

Haringey Council’s Cabinet Member for Culture and Leisure, Cllr Emily Arkell, said:

I’m delighted to welcome Clara as the new Chief Executive of the Haringey Culture Collective.

Clara’s wealth of expertise and experience – both here in the UK and abroad – will doubtless prove invaluable in the weeks and months ahead as we gear up to become the London Borough of Culture in 2027. Clara and Beki make an amazing leadership and delivery team and I am looking forward to working with both of them as we plan to showcase Haringey’s creative wealth in 2027.

It’s a really exciting time to live in Haringey with this landmark occasion and milestone moment on the horizon and it’s fantastic to have Clara on board to help us deliver our ambitious plans for the arts, culture and creativity sector.

Justine Simons OBE, Deputy Mayor for Culture and the Creative Industries, said:

Clara will be taking the helm of the Haringey Culture Collective at such an exciting time for the borough. Her leadership and collaborative spirit will help to deliver an impactful year of events for Haringey’s year as the Mayor’s London Borough of Culture. It is set to be a celebration of Haringey’s diverse community, local talent and history, helping us build a better London for everyone.

Haringey Culture Collective is a charitable organisation, founded by the council, which was established in July 2025 to deliver London Borough of Culture 2027 for the community from May 2027 through to March 2028.

The charity is independent and responsive to the needs of the programme while also being able to lean into the expertise of the in-house culture team and partners. It also has the ability to reduce demand on the local authority’s resources by bringing in external support through sponsorship not available to a council-hosted function.

Launched in 2017, the Mayor’s London Borough of Culture award brings Londoners together. It puts culture at the heart of local communities, where it belongs, illuminating the character and diversity of London’s boroughs and showing culture is for everyone.

Haringey will be London Borough of Culture 2027 and is planning a spectacular year celebrating Haringey’s unique identity as a Rebel Borough. Stay up-to-date with all the news on our preparations by signing up for our monthly London Borough of Culture newsletter.
