Council Leader Cllr Peray Ahmet and Cabinet Member Cllr Emily Arkell are set to join the local community for a festive grand launch on Saturday (6 December) following the heritage-led restoration of the Grade II listed building.
Transformation of the Art Deco jewel includes the establishment of a new cultural hub in the heart of Crouch End, delivering on the objectives set out by the council for the long-term community use of the revived building.
It comes as Haringey gears up for London Borough of Culture 2027 and will provide top-class cultural and community spaces for artistically minded creatives, designers and residents.
Cabinet Member for Culture and Leisure, Cllr Emily Arkell, said:
Our position has remained throughout the restoration that the owners of the site will be expected to live up to the commitments made to the community to restore cultural and community use to the town hall.
The Leader, Cllr Peray Ahmet, along with myself and fellow Cabinet Member, Cllr Ruth Gordon, have gone to great lengths to ensure the community use and access agreement is adhered to.
It’s fantastic that local people and communities will soon be able to experience and explore art and culture at another prestigious and historic venue in our borough.
To have Hornsey Town Hall alongside Alexandra Palace, the Bernie Grant Arts Centre, Bruce Castle Museum and Archive, Jacksons Lane and Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as major tourist attractions is a big and timely boost for our borough ahead of us becoming the London Borough of Culture 2027.
I’m pleased this has been delivered and that the community will play a central role in the delivery of cultural activities moving forward.
To celebrate Hornsey Town Hall reopening its doors, there will be a spectacular day of festive fun for all the family lined up on Saturday.
Residents and visitors to the borough are invited to join us for a magical celebration filled with arts, comedy, cultural and seasonal activities, delicious food, face painting, festive drinks, live talks, music and much more besides!
