The youngsters in attendance engaged in fun, free and engaging activities like painting and party games on Friday evening (19 December 2025) before being served up party food by the Deputy Leader of Haringey Council and Cabinet Member for Housing and Planning, Cllr Sarah Williams, Cabinet Member for Communities, Cllr Ajda Ovat, and ward Cllr John Bevan.
An awards ceremony to acknowledge and recognise the young people’s achievements and attainment in the Duke of Edinburgh Awards Scheme followed prior to a visit from Santa Claus.
This event occurred just 24 hours after another celebration on the other side of the borough, with our international families enjoying the seasonal festivities at the Muswell Hill Methodist Church in N10.
There were so many success stories throughout the afternoon, with attendees grateful for their gift boxes from Year 2 pupils at Highgate School.
Cllr Lucia das Neves spoke to the assembled gathering, with the council’s Cabinet Member for Health, Social Care and Wellbeing reasserting Haringey’s longstanding status as a borough of welcome.
Participants enjoyed Afghan, Italian and Ukrainian cuisine during this highly enjoyable and memorable occasion, which also included a winter-themed arts and crafts session, a children’s entertainer, a Henna tattoo stall and a collective, energetic dance-along activity.
