New Homelessness Prevention Hub to open in Tottenham Green to support Haringey residents

Haringey residents at risk of homelessness will soon have access to dedicated, face-to-face support at a brand-new Homelessness Prevention Hub (HPH), opening in Summer 2026 in the heart of Tottenham.

Provision of this specialist hub, which was approved at a Cabinet Member Signing on Monday (9 February 2026)*, is part of the council’s ongoing commitment to tackling the housing crisis and supporting those most in need. It will provide a safe, welcoming space for residents who need to make a statutory homelessness application.

The new hub will result in Haringey residents in housing need receiving a better customer service experience. Dedicated staff will be on hand to assist with any homelessness-related queries at the HPH, with all other Customer Service queries continuing to be dealt with at Wood Green Library.

The Deputy Leader of Haringey Council and Cabinet Member for Housing and Planning, Cllr Sarah Williams, said:

The nationwide housing crisis has hit some of our residents hard and, while we await the Renters’ Rights Act becoming law, we’re still seeing a large number of ‘no-fault eviction’ cases.

That’s why I’m pleased to be opening this dedicated prevention hub to meet the needs of those most in need.

The hub aims to complement our current services by helping to prevent homelessness and providing assistance, guidance and support to those at risk.

Residents who are homeless or at risk of homelessness will be offered a face-to-face appointment following an initial triage that will usually take place by telephone.

The HPH will be a dedicated, supportive space for residents experiencing homelessness or at risk of it. Wider housing queries related to tenants of the council and temporary accommodation should continue to be directed to the Customer Services Centre at Wood Green Library, or online via the council website.

Residents experiencing rough sleeping should continue to seek the specialist support available from the council’s existing provision at Mulberry Junction on Tottenham High Road.

*Monday’s Cabinet Member Signing is still subject to a call-in period.
