This comes as 10 front desks across London are set to close, with a further 24 stations reducing their hours.
The Met says the changes are part of a wider plan to modernise public contact services and focus front counter staffing where demand is highest.
Haringey Council has welcomed the news that Tottenham will continue operating, after pressing the Met to protect vital front line access for residents after they had announced last year that they were planning to close the front desk.
Thanks to lobbying efforts by Leader Cllr Peray Ahmet, Cabinet Member for Communities Cllr Ajda Ovat, Deputy Prime Minister David Lammy and MP Bambos Charalambous, the Met reversed their decision and committed to keeping the front desk at Tottenham open.
The Tottenham Station front desk will now open Monday to Friday between 10am and 10pm, and on weekends between 9am and 7pm.
Even when the station front counter is closed, residents will still have access to a range of police contact options, including a weatherproof phone outside of the station with direct connection to 999 or 101, as well as the usual 999, 101 and online reporting available 24/7.
Alternatively, residents can book in-person appointments with police officers, who can visit victims of crime directly, as well as video appointments or speaking to local Neighbourhood policing teams out in the borough.
Haringey Council and the Metropolitan Police will continue working together to ensure residents are supported as the new opening hours come into effect. The Council will share further updates to help residents understand and access the full range of services available.
