Family Hubs Programme
Family hub Programme is a local offer to support all families in Haringey. The programme’s core aim is to improve family services particularly in area with the highest levels of deprivation and disproportionately poor health and education outcomes.
A family hub is a system-wide model of providing high-quality, whole-family, joined up, family support services. This means that we aim to provide a universal front door to families, offering a ‘one-stop shop’ of family support services across social care, education, mental and physical health needs, with a comprehensive Start for Life offer for parents and babies at its core.
Family hubs deliver these family support services from pregnancy, through the child’s early years and later childhood, and into early adulthood until they reach the age of 19 (or up to 25 for young people with special educational needs and disabilities, SEND).
Family hubs will deliver four core services:
- parenting support
- parent-infant relationships and perinatal mental health support
- early language and home learning environment
- infant feeding support
To support the design of hubs we will create 4 parent-carer groups and publish a 'Start for life' offer to show what is available for new and existing parents in Haringey.
Other services will be available from hubs and this will be communicated in the lead up to opening of our first hub at Triangle Children, Young People and Community Centre in June 2023.

Who are family hubs for?
A Family hub supports families from conception, through the child’s early years and up to the age of 19 (or 25 for young people with special educational needs and disabilities).
Family hubs provide family support early, when families need it, providing universal and targeted services, and access to more intensive support.
Family hubs can support all families, but it is particularly important that they are designed to be accessible to families experiencing social or economic disadvantage or those from minority groups who experience inequalities and/or exclusion.
Family hub locations
We are planning to open 4 family hubs in locations across the borough with the first opening in June 2023 at Triangle Children, Young People & Community Centre.
Future needs and feedback from our communities will help us to select future hub locations.
Parent, carer and young people events
We want to design a service that is suitable for our residents and most importantly for families. We will work with parents and carers to do so. In line with the Haringey Deal principles, we want to listen to our service users and find out what works and what doesn’t.

Who is involved?
We are working with senior leaders, managers and commissioners from our local health, social care, education and voluntary (VCS) organisations so that each family hub is designed to meet the needs of the local community.
The programme is being overseen by the Start Well Board, a multi-agency group of professionals which is chaired by the Director of Children's Services.
The family hubs oversight group, chaired by the Assistant Director of Early Years Help and the family hubs implementation group, chaired by Head of Service Early Help are responsible for the leadership and day to day management of the programme.
Delivery of the work is being coordinated by our family hubs programme manager.
