Understanding sexual health
- In this video, Haringey public health officer, Anna, interviewed Jen Baer, Haringey’s specialist Sexual Health School Nurse. They discussed why it's important to talk about sexual health with young people and how to refer them to the right local services:
- This video for professionals gives details of Haringey's sexual health support services for young people:
Sexual identity
- There is a useful page from YoungMinds (external link) focuses on sexuality and its effect on mental health. It includes tips for young people to help them look after their mental health and understand the spectrum of sexuality.
- You can also share, print or signpost young people to these resources from FFLAG (external link) They cover topics like coming out, sexual identity and gender identity for adults and young people.
More support
If you know a victim of violence who is part of the LGBTQIA+ community, they can find support on the Galop website (external link).
Disclaimer:
The FFLAG documents (2017), don't cover or use the most up to date acronyms and topics, such as the spectrum of gender identity. However, the advice to young LBGTQIA+ people is still relevant and useful in most cases.
