How to refer a family or young person

Alcohol as a coping mechanism
If you would like to know how alcohol can be used to cope, and when it becomes an issue, this 20-minute presentation from Insightful Families during the March Emotional Wellbeing Forum has some useful insight.

Lesson plan
This Public Health England (PHE) lesson plan (external link) helps students explore the reasons why some young people choose to drink alcohol and the impact this can have on them. (Includes a PowerPoint presentation, activities and films).
For young people
This guide from the Anna Freud National Centre for Children and Families (external link - PDF, 1.3MB) supports mental health and wellbeing in secondary schools. Page 6 is dedicated to drug and alcohol use.
