Where you can park for free on bank holidays.

The next UK bank holidays are Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day.

On bank and public holidays, parking is free in:

Where you cannot park

Normal rules apply so you cannot park:

  • on double yellow lines
  • in 24-hour loading bays
  • in disabled bays
  • in bus stops
  • in taxi ranks/bays
  • on pavements or grass verges
  • where event day parking restrictions apply
  • on zigzags, for example pedestrian crossings

Other restrictions

We still enforce moving traffic offences on bank and public holidays, including:

  • bus lanes
  • no entry roads
  • banned turns
  • yellow box junctions

Nighttime enforcement

Our civil enforcement officers enforce these rules from 10pm to 1am on bank holidays.
