The next UK bank holidays are Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day.
On bank and public holidays, parking is free in:
- most controlled parking zones (CPZs) – find the CPZ for the road you want to park in and see when parking is free
- all on-street pay by phone parking bays
- open council car parks
Check GOV.UK for dates of bank and public holidays.
Where you cannot park
Normal rules apply so you cannot park:
- on double yellow lines
- in 24-hour loading bays
- in disabled bays
- in bus stops
- in taxi ranks/bays
- on pavements or grass verges
- where event day parking restrictions apply
- on zigzags, for example pedestrian crossings
Other restrictions
We still enforce moving traffic offences on bank and public holidays, including:
- bus lanes
- no entry roads
- banned turns
- yellow box junctions
Nighttime enforcement
Our civil enforcement officers enforce these rules from 10pm to 1am on bank holidays.
